Frequently asked Questions:

Not everyone has to conduct the occupational therapy driving assessment. Its only if a medical professional has recommended it.

The assessment takes approximately two hours to complete.

Yes we can claim a portion of the assessment through Medicare if your General Practitioner has set up the Care Plan through Medicare.

You are not permitting to drive until your referring General Practitioner or Specialist gives permission.

You are driving illegally and wont be covered under insurance.

Yes if you have it stated in your NDIS plan it can be covered completely by NDIS funding.

Yes if stated in your plan and recommended by the occupational therapist, NDIS cover the cost of the vehicle modifications.

A comprehensive report is sent to the referring Transport Authority, General Practitioner and or Specialist outlining recommendations. Then you are to set up an appointment with the referring General Practitioner and or Specialist who will inform you the plan moving forward.

Once the assessment has taken place a comprehensive report is sent to the Transport Authority. Resulting in you having to attend a Transport Branch to be advised of licence and or medical certificate updates.

Only once you have seen the referring General Practitioner and or Specialist and been given consent.
